Public art that is created should reflect the community that it is created in. It should add to the daily experience of those who go by it. It should create a sense of place for tourists, those who come to visit so they say, “oh, that’s uniquely San Antonio.” Public art plays that role. The closer we are to the center of town, the closer our public art should reflect our historic and cultural origins.
