“Fotoseptiembre USA, now in its 24th year, is a one-of-a-kind community-based photographic festival. “Edible Immigrants,” a series of portraits of Mexican produce, is my contribution to this year’s visual feast of images.
All of the foods in this portrait series are immigrants that have enriched our lives with their journeys. I believe those who bring their own prejudices to the table often overlook the benefits of immigration. This exhibit hopes to nourish the conversation.
I invite you to view my photographic exhibition of indigenous produce. Come enjoy the cornucopia of vegetarian delights from ancient Mexico. My photographs are more than still life portraits. They are alive with history and culture. The flavor of my images will whet your appetite for art as well as food. The opening reception is September 9, from 3-6 p.m., at Rendon Photography & Fine Art, 733 S. Alamo Street, and will be on display until Nov. 18.
